Where do we source our ingredients?

Our team of biochemists works tirelessly to secure only the purest and most potent ingredients from all over the world. Each ingredient that we use in our formulations is individually third-party tested to verify purity and potency before it gets added to our supplements. If individual ingredients don't meet our high standards of quality, they are rejected.

Are Hardy formulas tested for purity and safety?

The lab where our supplements are manufactured is based in the United States and maintains rigorous Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Our products are manufactured in an NSF/ANSI GMP 455-2 certified facility, which is also registered with and inspected by the FDA and the Department of Health and Human Services. These standards, along with our commitment to quality, are why you can depend on the quality, potency, and purity of our products. 

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) help to safeguard the health of the consumer as well as ensure high-quality products in accordance with dietary supplement regulations. GMP involves testing of products during the manufacturing process to ensure that ingredients are uncontaminated and in the correct amounts (as indicated on the product label) and that the expiration date is based on real and accelerated stability measurements.

In fact, the most recent double-blind study published by researchers from several universities in the US and Canada required a detailed analysis of each ingredient before approval by the FDA and Health Canada. With so many ingredients that work in synergy, Daily Essential Nutrients is NOT an ordinary supplement. It requires intensive research and development to ensure that quality standards are met and exceeded.

In giving nutrient intake guidelines, the U.S Institute of Medicine makes it clear that the balance of ingredients in supplements is critical. They state that an imbalance in the intake of two or more nutrients can have a diverse array of adverse health effects and increase the potential risks of adverse nutrient-nutrient interactions. They also state that excessive intake of one nutrient may interfere with absorption, excretion, transport, storage, function, or metabolism of a second nutrient. 

So, in other words, what they’re saying is that if the ingredients in a supplement are not in proper balance, it could be less effective than taking no supplement at all – and even create problems. For instance, if zinc and copper are not balanced properly, it could be worse than having no zinc or no copper in the supplement at all. Similarly, if you take zinc or copper separately, you can imbalance the body and create serious problems. 

The critical ratio of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium is another good example. If you supplement calcium to solve bone issues without also supplementing phosphorus and magnesium in proper balance, you won’t solve the bone issues. In fact, you may actually create osteoporosis. So, the balance of nutrients is a critical issue, and simply having 100% of the RDA of each nutrient, like many supplements on the market, is not ideal. Nutrients must be in optimal balance with other key ingredients to be truly effective.
